The timing chain kit usage

The MAGNETI MARELLI brand Timing Chain Kit is made of high-strength metal, which ensures its reliability and durability. But at the same time, she loses flexibility, which can negatively affect her work. In order to keep the chain constantly taut, it is additionally equipped with powerful hydraulic tensioners. Their number can range from one to three.

The chain drive is also characterized by quite intense vibrations, which can be reduced by using dampers. These are metal slats with a spring, covered with a rubberized layer for maximum effect. If a toothed chain is installed, then neither tensioners nor dampers are used.

It is recommended to replace these chain drive components at the same time as replacing the timing chain. For this, it is advisable to use a special set of the drive chain, which, in addition to the chain itself, tensioners and dampers, can also include gaskets, sprockets and a lock plate.
