In order to damp the vibrations of the car body, shock absorbers were invented. Despite their elasticity, due to which vibrations are damped, they still transmit part of the vibration to the body. To eliminate this phenomenon, a shock absorber strut mount has been developed that absorbs the remaining vibration not damped by the main assembly and the spring. This unit is a device for attaching the rack to the car body. The shock absorber strut has parts such as a rubber cushion and a plastic plain bearing in its construction. The latter is necessary so that the shock absorber can rotate freely. And the rubber support of the rack actually acts as an absorber of vibration transmitted from the main unit.

The repair kit usage

As a rule, if it is damaged, a dull sound is heard when the rack hits the car body. This happens because the strut deforms over time and loses its properties. This can be determined visually, because the engine compartment has access to these components. Sometimes they are covered with special protective caps that can be easily removed, giving access to the pillow.
