The FEBI BILSTEIN brand EGR Module is a key component of the EGR valve. This development serves to protect the environment. The mechanism regulates the volume of exhaust gases going from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold, thus, the gases move back to the internal combustion engine cylinders for complete disposal. The EGR valve is open during engine operation and slightly opened during idle. The EGR module design includes an electromagnetic coil and a rheostat with a pulley in the middle. The pulley is used to rotate the core when opening or closing the valve.

The functionality of the EGR module

The function of the mechanism is to return regulated volumes of exhaust gases to the intake manifold at a set time. The gases are mixed with fuel and air, this mixture moves back into the cylinders of the internal combustion engine. The responsible control unit, taking into account the readings of several sensors, for example, measuring the temperature of air or coolant, a spare parts position sensor and others, controls the volume of the substance. The total number of sensors depends on the car model and the territory for which it was produced. There are also modifications that operate based on a vacuum and a solenoid valve.
