The conditions of the thermostat housing usage

For normal operation of a car engine and prolongation of its service life, it is necessary that the coolant temperature is more than 70 degrees and less than 97 degrees Celsius. This temperature in cars is controlled by a thermostat located in the branch pipe. As a rule, the temperatures - lower and higher - are different for different brands of cars; therefore, the thermostat must be used with the appropriate melting point.
