Gasket Set, exhaust manifold - TR179 TURBORAIL

To divert exhaust gases from the working cylinders of the engine and collect them in one exhaust pipe, an TURBORAIL brand Gasket Set, exhaust manifold made of heat-resistant cast iron or stainless steel is used. An exhaust manifold gasket is required to connect it to the power unit. Unfortunately, compared to the latter, it has a small margin of safety. Therefore, it must be changed periodically, and the more aggressive the driving style and the harder the operating conditions of the machine, the more often this has to be done.

The usage of exhaust manifold gasket set

There are high requirements for such products, because they must seal the joint as much as possible, and at the same time have a sufficient margin of thermal stability so as not to burn out for as long as possible. Therefore, modern exhaust manifold gaskets are made of pressed asbestos, which is reinforced with metal. Taken together, this makes it possible to produce a high-strength seal, but even it is not enough to withstand the thermal load during the systematic overheating of the power unit. Under normal conditions, the exhaust manifold gasket will last the manufacturer's stated life, but operating the machine in severe conditions will accelerate the wear of this product.
