The TRUCKTEC AUTOMOTIVE brand Gasket, housing cover (crankcase) is a sealing element of the timing gear housing that covers the timing drive assembly, chain and crankshaft oil seal. Prevents from influence of external weather factors, moisture and dust on internal elements.

They are made of paronite, cardboard, rubber or cork material (the latter is not used in modern cars). It has the shape of the edges of the front cover of the engine, which ensures good sealing of the assembly.

The usage of crankcase housing cover gasket

Replacement is carried out during scheduled repairs, maintenance of the distribution gear assembly, installation of a new timing chain or crankshaft oil seal. Before installation, it is necessary to clean the seats of the housing and block from the remnants of the old seal. The gasket has holes for bolts securing the cover to the block.

The bolts must be tightened to the torque specified in the vehicle repair manual. It is recommended to use the services of specialists in a car workshop: insufficient tightening or overtightening of fasteners can damage the sealing characteristics of the gasket.
