Modern engines (internal combustion engines of forklifts including) are complex mechanisms that require lubrication to reduce friction and remove heat from working surfaces.

The shaft seals play an important role in this process. The main task of shaft seals is to prevent excess oil from leaking from the engine. In the engine of a forklift truck, valves are located, which are in contact with the camshaft on one side and with the fuel mixture on the other. When the camshaft rotates, an oil suspension is created; for the normal operation of the internal combustion engine, a lot of lubrication is needed, while the ingress of oil into the combustion chamber is unacceptable.

The construction of the shaft seal

The shaft seals perform this very function - they remove excess oil from the valve stem.

The AUGER brand Shaft Seal, differential consists of a rubber cap, a steel sleeve and a spring. The spring serves to tighten the cap on the valve stem. At the same time, the quality of the cap does not depend so much on the design features as on the quality of the rubber from which it is made. The higher quality rubber is used, the better and longer the oil seal performs its functions.
